As COVID-19 continues to spread, the future has never felt so unpredictable. These are challenging times for us all, and we hope you’re in good spirits and health! Right now, we’re doing everything possible to sustain daily operations and provide services to our community. While there’s a lot of uncertainty, we know that we need to adapt fast to our changing reality. Now, more than ever, our community needs us. And we need you.
Durham Deaf Services has been working tirelessly to keep the local Deaf community updated and informed on facts and information regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic. We are doing this also while working to keep our services operational and as we continue to run our Deaf Adult Upgrading Program, albeit digitally. We have been working relentlessly to keep our staff employed, keep the community informed and run our services, all while working on marginal funding and recovering from a costly move to our new office.
But we need your support to continue!
Please donate today by clicking the button below:
Effective March 18, 2020, DDS will be closed until further notice.

With the current information provided regarding the COVID-19 virus, Durham Deaf Services will be temporarily closing to align with efforts to slow down the spread of the virus and protect the health and safety of our community members.
COVID-19 is a serious threat to the safety of our community, and we believe it is in all of our best interests to close our office. Our priority is our community’s safety.
Our staff will be working remotely and will be responding to emails.
You can contact us via phone or email.
Thank you for your understanding and patience. Please stay safe during this difficult time.
We will ensure that regular updates are posted on the DDS website and all our social media to keep everyone informed.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at 905 579-3328 (voice/TTY) or info@durhamdeaf.org.
For a limited time, Canada Helps will be adding an extra $5 to any donation of $25 or more! Help support DDS. Your donation will Deaf-initley come in handy!
