ONTARIO HAS BEEN DECLARED A STATE OF EMERGENCY

Thank you!
Durham Deaf Services (DDS) received funding to translate online information regarding COVID-19 into American Sign Language (ASL).

Having the information available in their first language was significant for the Deaf community.

DDS would like to express our gratitude for the support in funding this project. Durham Deaf Services is grateful to the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund and Durham Community Foundation.
Due to the Ontario COVID-19 Lockdown,

Our office is closed to walk-ins.
However, we will continue to offer programs and services online.

Deaf Services in Ontario

Durham Deaf Services is committed to increasing Deaf cultural awareness.

Durham Deaf Services is a non-profit organization that offers services and programs that promote self-reliance within the Deaf, Deafened, and Hard of hearing Community.

Seeing a need to make workshops that are available to the general public more accessible to the Deaf Community, DDS hosts various workshops throughout the year. These workshops are made available to the Deaf community through ASL interpretation. Some examples of workshops offered in the past include CPR, first aid, parenting courses, and boating safety.
